Custom domains and site recovery
A custom domain and an Eyivo site are separate. Proving control of a domain can let you connect that address to your own site; it does not give you access to someone else’s site or account.
Connecting a custom domain
To publish a site at your domain, complete the TXT verification and point the domain to the address Eyivo provides. Both are required before the domain can be assigned to your site and published. Pointing the domain alone is not proof of control.
A domain already on one of your sites
A domain can be connected to only one of your sites at a time. If it is already connected to another site in your account, Eyivo will identify that site. Remove the domain there before adding it to a different site, or choose another domain.
A domain previously used by another customer
If you now control a domain that is connected to another Eyivo account, you may submit a new verification claim. After you complete the TXT verification and point it to the required Eyivo address, Eyivo can release the previous domain connection and connect the domain to your own site. The previous customer keeps their site, content, and account and can connect another domain.
If the released domain was the previous site’s primary address, another active custom domain on that site becomes primary. If there is none, the site’s Eyivo address becomes primary.
Recovering access to a site
Domain verification proves current DNS control for an Eyivo domain claim. It does not establish ownership of an existing site or grant access to its content or account. If you lost access to your site, recover the original Eyivo account through its sign-in and recovery options.
Moving a site to another account
A site transfer requires authorization from the current site owner. If account recovery or an authorized transfer is unavailable, contact Eyivo support for a separate review of your evidence. DNS verification alone cannot transfer a site.
